Help us build a powerful peace camp in Israel
14/05/25
The peace summit we led in Jerusalem, together with the 'It’s Time' coalition, continues to make waves and drive real change. The summit opened with a clear and unequivocal rejection of the war, and a strong stance against the starvation and mass killing in Gaza. This message — along with a vision and hope for the day after the war — reached not only the 6,000 people in the hall, but also hundreds of thousands who watched from afar, in Israel and around the world, or came across the widespread media coverage.

This summit marks a crucial step in strengthening the Israeli peace camp and shifting both the political and media agenda in Israel. Our impact is seen in the people who came to the summit out of curiosity — and ended the day giving their testimony from their service in Gaza at the “Breaking the Silence” stand. It continues with the success of our partners at ALLMEP, who delivered a message from French President Macron, in which he promised to carry the messages of “It’s Time” to the peace summit France is hosting in June with Saudi Arabia.
President Mahmoud Abbas sent a message to the summit attendees as well, and many Palestinians — independent activists and representatives of the Palestinian Authority — participated. The EU Foreign Minister Kallas expressed deep commitment to the messages of “It’s Time” and backed it with a pledge to allocate an additional €18 million to human rights and peace organizations in Palestine and Israel — in direct response to the Israeli government’s new tax legislation aimed at silencing NGOs.
Thanks to the mandate we received from our community, we played a key role in founding and leading “It’s Time”. And it’s working. At the peace summit in Tel Aviv just 10 months ago, we had to chase down Israeli politicians to convince them to attend. This time, we were flooded with calls from politicians asking to take part — and in the end, representatives from five different opposition parties stood on stage, some of whom shifted their messages to align with ours.

Now, we’re ready for the next phase in building the strength of the Israeli peace camp and shifting both the political and media agenda in Israel. Now is the time to join us with a monthly contribution which will give us the stability to continue working for peace.
