“Keep showing up — you give us hope”

“We managed to hold on for longer thanks to the work of protective presence activists” — this is what Adnan told us this morning. Adnan is originally from Ras al-Ein al-Auja, a village whose residents were all expelled by settlers. He told us that the presence of Israelis provided him and his family with protection and respite during the violent attacks on the village.
We decided to expand this project. On Friday, July 3, dozens of Zazim activists took part in a protective presence training with Amira Musallam in the Jordan Valley. The Zazim community has been present in the field for many years — during the olive harvest, in tree planting, and through protective presence. But the initiative with Amira Musallam is unique: we did not come to “help for one day,” but to learn how to build long-term civilian presence using nonviolent resistance methods.
We are already planning the next training, so that as many Israelis as possible can get to know the reality in the West Bank up close - and take part in protecting Palestinian communities. You are invited to join us — click here to chip in.
