We took down the misleading ad

23/05/18

“Thinking about abortion? Contact “Efrat” for guidance...” These were the radio ads run by “Efrat” - an anti-choice and anti-abortion organization, which attempted to actively deceive women. But thanks to Zazim member Nirit, and more than 1,000 Zazim member who joined her campaign, the misleading ad is now off the air! This is what Nirit had to say: “I was angry when I heard the misleading advertisement offering ‘guidance’ to pregnant women. I have two daughters, and I don’t want them to live in a world where there are traps set for women - especially when faced with incredibly difficult decisions. So I launched the campaign.”  Nirit opened her campaign on our our site, and within a week over 1,000 Zazim members joined her call to the Second Authority for Television and Radio (one of Israel’s largest broadcasting authorities, which is in charge of approving radio ads) to remove the misleading ads. Thanks to our pressure, the Second Authority determined that the ads must be removed, and any future advertisements by “Efrat” must make clear that the organizations mission is to fight abortions, rather than aide listeners in distress. This is an incredible win - and just another example of the determined citizen-power of our community!
